Developed in partnership with Crying Out Loud, Carousel fosters artistic risk-taking, deepens cross-cultural connections, and provides a space for creative exploration outside of production pressures. Each residency is shaped by the artists who take part, creating a dynamic and evolving space for international exchange. The programme does not require finished work but instead prioritises process, dialogue, and shared learning.
A key part of each residency includes opportunities to experience and engage with local artistic communities, festivals, and performances—providing further inspiration and connections for participating artists.
Where We’ve Been (2024 -2025)
Vilnius, Lithuania – Our first residency took place within the context of Cirkuliacija, a festival dedicated to contemporary circus and performance. Alongside the residency, artists had the chance to engage with performances and discussions, immersing themselves in the Lithuanian cultural scene.
Prague, Czech Republic – The second edition of Carousel took place in Prague, in collaboration with Zdruhestrany. Artists explored new creative ideas while engaging with the local performance landscape, gaining insights into the Czech artistic ecosystem.
Carousel is an ongoing initiative, with future residencies planned in new locations. If you’re interested in taking part or learning more about the project, get in touch.
